It’s composed of 2 distinct areas: the more traditional downtown area, El Centro, and Zona Hotelera, a long, beachfront strip of high-rise hotels, nightclubs, shops and restaurants. Cancun is also a famed destination for students during universities’ spring break period.

Annual Weather Averages. June is the hottest month in Cancun with an average temperature of 28°C (82°F) and the coldest is January at 23°C (73°F) with the most daily sunshine hours at 11 in August. The wettest month is September with an average of 270mm of rain.
Language
Several different languages are spoken in Mexico, with a large majority of the population fluent in Spanish while some Indigenous Mexicans are monolingual in indigenous languages. Today, Mexicans predominantly speak Spanish and learn English as a second language.

Mexican Peso is the most used currency in Mexico, American dollar and sterling are also accepted in some tourist resorts
